A typical tile shower

Your bathroom, day by day

You get this plan on paper before we start: what happens each day and what you can do. An acrylic swap is shorter, usually two or three days.

  1. Day 1

Step 1: Cover, shut off, tear out

We cover the floors and the hall, shut off the water and take out the tub and the old walls. You use another bathroom from today. If you don't have one, tell us at the visit and we plan around it.

  2. Day 2

    Step 2: Plumbing and waterproofing

The new valve and drain go in, and we look behind the old walls. If there is rot or a leak, we stop, show you a photo and write you the price before we go on. Then the waterproof layer goes up.

  3. Day 3

    Step 3: Tile goes up

Walls and floor are tiled. The tile needs to set overnight, so it is a quiet evening in the house.

  4. Day 4

Step 4: Grout, sealer and glass

Grout and sealer go in. If you chose a glass door, it is measured now and installed a few days later, once it is made.

  5. Day 5

    Step 5: Fixtures and walk-through

The shower head, handle, drain cover and any grab bars go on. We run the water with you, clean up and show you how to care for the tile.

The three packages

Three packages, with what is in each

These are the three packages for a standard 60-inch tub opening. Your quote is for your bathroom.

  • Swap

Acrylic walls and a new base where the tub was. Usually two or three working days.

    • Tub and surround removed and hauled away
    • Acrylic wall panels and a slip-resistant base
    • New valve, shower head and drain
    • Glass door
    • Repairs found behind the old walls
  • Tile

Porcelain tile walls and a tiled base. Usually four to five working days.

    • Everything in the Swap, with tile instead of acrylic
    • Waterproof layer under the tile
    • One niche for shampoo
    • Glass door
    • Permit fee
  • Easy-entry

A tile shower with a seat and a low step. Usually five to seven working days.

    • Everything in the Tile package
    • A built-in seat
    • Wall backing for grab bars, and two bars
    • Handheld sprayer on a slide bar
    • A fully flat floor, which can mean cutting the slab

Your written quote sets the price for your bathroom. Moving a drain, rot or old pipes behind the walls, and permit fees are listed on it.

The crew

A bath crew that speaks your language

Magdalena Valencia runs every job, writes every quote and is there for the final walk-through. She and Armando Zamora speak Spanish and English; Ciara Starks speaks English.

The people you meet at the visit are the people who come to work, so there is nobody new to explain things to on day one.

  • Quote and schedule on paper, in English or Spanish

  • The same crew from the first day to the walk-through

  • Floors and hallways covered, and swept every evening

What homeowners say

“Armando showed me the schedule on paper before we started, and every day matched it. I used the other bathroom all week and never felt in the way.”

Aurora R.Winter Park

“I put off the shower for two years because I didn't want a mess. They covered the hall floor and swept up every evening. The seat and the grab bars are where I asked for them.”

Hubert S.Pine Hills

“They found soft wood behind the old wall, sent me a photo and a written price, and waited for my yes before going on.”

Dianne K.Oviedo

“Magdalena explained everything in Spanish, so my wife could ask every question herself. The quote matched the final bill.”

Questions we hear most

How long is my bathroom out of use?

Usually two or three working days for an acrylic swap and about five for a tile shower. The bathroom is out of use for that time, so we plan around a second bathroom. Tell us at the visit if you don't have one.

Can you work in a condo or an HOA community?

Yes. Many communities ask for a request form, proof of insurance and set work hours, and some limit hauling or elevator use. We fill in the paperwork with you. Your association has the final say.

Do you pull the permit?

When your city or county asks for one, we pull it and the inspection is part of the schedule. Jobs that move the plumbing usually need a permit; a straight swap may not. The permit fee is listed on your quote.

Do you speak Spanish?

Magdalena and Armando do. The quote and the schedule come in Spanish too. Ciara speaks English.
